Works Great!
This solved a problem with dark stairs into the basement. Now, every time I go up or down the stairs, the light comes on automatically. It works in the day as well night because not much outside light reaches the stairs. Iâm very happy with this product!

Light bulb inserted in the device does not stay on from Dust to Dawn
A dusk to dawn device implies the light bulb would stay on from dusk to dawn. There is a light source inside the device purchased which does stay on and produces a very a small amount of light. However, the light bulb does not come on unless there is motion detected. This is not what I needed.

It works as advertised, but it’s big
I initially got this because I didn’t see any other options. I wanted to put this inside a “coach” style light fixture outdoors, where the light bulb points upwards. The fixture I have is a 13″ high brass builder-grade one with four glass panes. Using a “PIR” detection style bulb was not an option due to the angle. A standard size A19 light bulb will not allow the top to go on the fixture with this device in place. I bought some “shorty” A15 LED light bulbs to see if they would fit, but even with a full 1 1/2 inch reduction in overall height the cover barely fits on the backside, but can’t be closed in the front. However, size issues aside this thing works great. On max detection setting, I can sneak around the corner of my house 15 feet away and this instantly lights up the bulb. The LED light ring on the bottom is nice, no glaring light all night long while still providing peace of mind looking out the back window at my yard. It does turn everything off in daylight, and comes on at dusk just when it gets hard to differentiate fine shapes in darker areas.

Motion sensor socket that solved my problem
I was looking to add a motion sensor to my front porch light. I reviewed the ms bulbs but was looking for adjustable time limits. Most of the ms bulbs would stay on for ten minutes and as for add on ms devices, most reviews advised the range wasn’t that great. The Esenlite was easy to install after adjusting 5 switches for range, time limit (I wanted 1 or 3 mintues) which this has 1 to 10 minutes, etc. Works as described. My light is about 2 feet above our door (10 ft total) and the range is out about 15-20 feet on the walkway. Since it’s new, longevity is my only concern. I would buy it again though.March 2023 Update- Esenlite is working great. I had a small issue but the company’s customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend this product. Works well and I live in the Northeast.

Suffers from poor description and documentation, but otherwise works
As many other reviews have noted, the manual and instructions for this product are quite poor. Once I figured out what’s actually going on, I would say this product basically does work as advertised. It just shouldn’t be so much work to understand how it works and what it’s intended to do.If you have other motion sensor sockets, or you’re shopping for similar products, nearly all other models are traditional motion detectors. These use PIR (passive infrared) sensors, and are actually heat detectors, not strictly motion detectors. If you read the description for this eSenlite product, you may think that has two operating modes: traditional motion detection, and a “smart” mode. You may assume that the traditional motion detection mode that it talks about uses a traditional PIR sensor like the other products. You may assume that the band of translucent plastic around the socket, which looks very similar to other products, is that PIR sensor. That is not the case. From what I can tell, this eSenlite model *only* uses the doppler detection method, regardless of which mode you have the product set to. It is the case that this detection method can in some cases see around corners or even detect motion on the other side of a door. So that’s sort of cool I guess, but the main point is there is no traditional PIR/heat sensor on this device.Setting the device to AUTO mode will make it operate very similarly to other motion detector sockets on the market. Once it detects motion, it will turn the light on, and once it stops detecting motion, after a delay, it will turn off. One thing that I did not see mentioned in the description or the manual (or wasn’t stated clearly enough) is that the eSenlite device itself has a light in it; basically a nightlight. In AUTO mode, the nightlight turns on when the lightbulb turns on, and turns off when the bulb turns off. I’m not really sure why it does that, the nightlight provides no value when the bulb is on. I guess it’s if you want to use the eSenlite *without* a bulb, it could still operate as a motion-activated nightlight. In SMART mode, the device will illuminate the nightlight when the bulb is off. So when there’s no motion, the nightlight is on, when motion is detected the bulb is on. When you read the product description and it talks about dimming, I believe this is what it’s talking about. I have not seen any evidence that the eSenlite ever dims the bulb that’s attached (like, 100% brightness at night, 50% brightness at dusk). They are basically calling the switch between the bulb and the nightlight “dimming”. The description does mention a photocell to do dusk-to-dawn illumination. I’m using this product in a basement so I’m not really sure what that means. If I had to guess, I would say it turns off the nightlight when the ambient light is bright enough. It may also prevent the bulb from turning on when motion is detected if the ambient light is bright, but I couldn’t say for sure. I believe the photocell only comes into play when in SMART mode, not when in AUTO mode.Using the dip switches to change the configuration was straightforward. The description of how to the switches is clear. The delay and distance settings do what you would expect. There’s one switch to change between AUTO and SMART, so that’s easy too. Really the only issue is getting a good understanding of what each mode does, and deciphering some of the borderline deceptive feature descriptions on the product page.If you’re just looking for a motion detector that works very similarly to other motion detectors, put this in AUTO mode and you should be fine. Just note that this sensor will be more sensitive than PIR sensors, so you may find that it turns on even if you don’t actually enter the room where it’s installed.

Works on my âswirlâ pattern frosted outside lamp!!
I was skeptical, but it worked.Picture had to be taken in daylight in order to see this type of frosting I speak about. My lamp is NOT SOLID frosted, but has slightly clearer swirl marks; however, I think it would still work with solid frosted types. It does take up room in the lamp; however I improvised & purchased smaller 2â high floodlights from Amazon to save space. âAnyray A1876Y (3-Bulbs) HR16 120V 35W E27/ E26 MR-16 35 Watt JDR C Halogen Bulb Lamp FMW Flood with Lens.âPrior to this, I had attach a separate sensor on the wall & squeeze the lead wire to the bulb piece between the glass and screw-in lid (because fixture was closed at the bottom). The outside piece that was attached to the wall never weathered well, and I had to get on a ladder to change the battery (and sometimes the entire sensor contraption). With this sensor, everything is shielded from the weather, no battery is involved, and no ugly wires.I donât often leave reviews, but this sensor deserved a good review, and I hope it helps others that have frosted fixtures that are closed at the bottom.

Very fast next day delivery. Bought this as a replacement motion sensor light receptacle fixture. It has dip switches that provide the ability to customize the on/off function. So far, I’m happy with the performance. Hoping for many years of service

I like this little device. It does what it says it would do but could be more sensitive with up close detection.I mean if it would capture more closer from right up under the light that it will be more perfect. My back yard light is situated about 8 feet up and about 8 feet to the side of the house. So when I turn the corner it should see me right away. The issue is that I would turn the corner and go past the light before it turns on and sometimes, have to waive my hand up high for it to detect me. Probably the detection beam is may be angled too high. I am 6 feet tall and it should see me right away from 8 feet away. I have it set to 19 feet in case I come out of another back door which is about 20 feet on the opposite end of the house. It works with movements and the price is reasonable.

Bought two and tried everything to make them work. Anything but the lowest detection range setting makes them come on and stay on. Worked with e-senlite to try and get them to work. Returned one for replacement from Amazon. New one had same issue. Also interfered with my wifi. Got tired of taking them in and out of the fixture and troubleshooting. Sent the, back for a refund.I also purchased AmeriTop Motion Activated Dusk to Dawn Security LED Bulbs and although they are not configurable, they work as advertised and are half the price.

I purchased an LED bulb adapter with dimmable control, specially designed for my temporary shelter. I was looking for an efficient and practical lighting solution, suitable for outdoor use. Here is my detailed experience with this product.According to our taste we set it at 5 feet instead of 12 feet preferable for our tempo, watch the video. My goal was clear: find lighting that automatically adapts to changes in brightness, while providing easy installation for my temporary shelter. I wanted a product that would simplify my life, without compromising on quality. The adapter has radically changed our routine. As soon as you approach the street, by car or on foot, the bulb turns on automatically. It’s magical, giving a personalized welcome feeling. This adapter is relatively compact and its main function is light intensity control which automatically adjusts from dusk to dawn, an ideal feature for outdoor use. The lighting is soft, but powerful enough to effectively illuminate my shelter. However, I noticed a slight latency when changing intensity, which can be slightly confusing at first.Quality and PerformanceOverall, the quality is there. The adapter is resistant to variations in temperature and humidity, a crucial point for outdoor use. Its performance is stable, but it is important to note this small latency when making intensity adjustments.Benefits:- Easy installation- Responsiveness to change of light- Resistant to external conditionsDisadvantages:- Slight latency in intensity adjustmentCompared to other similar adapters, its price-performance ratio is competitive, although it is not the fastest in terms of responsiveness. To optimize its use, I recommend combining it with a quality LED bulb, in order to take full advantage of its dimming capabilities. This adapter is a great option for those looking for a smart, easy-to-install lighting solution for outdoor spaces like a temporary shelter. Despite the low latency, its efficiency and resistance make it a wise choice. I recommend it for those looking for a balance between simplicity, efficiency and durability.
