Availability and Price
Starting at $599 the HP x2 Chromebook is definitely on the premium price range. But HP is trying to compete against the iPad Pro and it definitely shows. The specs include a 12.3-inch touchscreen. 32 GB internal storage which can be expanded and an Intel Core M processor what I love about this Chromebook is the design. HP has done a great job with the design on the x2.
This Chromebook is speedy, running the 7th generation Intel Core processor it is very snappy and you can browse multiple tabs and Android apps at the same time. With all that speed the battery life on HP x2 Chromebook is great. You can get 10 hours of screen time which means easily all-day battery. The fact that this is the first Chromebook that fully detachable makes it super portable and a great blending between what Android tablets used to be and what Chromebooks were.
CPU: Intel Core M processor | RAM: 4GB | Storage: 32GB| Display: 12.3 | Battery: 10.5 Hours | Size: 11.5 x 8.32 x 0.32 inches | Weight: 3.06 pounds
Google Play app and Design
Right out of the gate this Chromebook has the Google Play app store installed which gives you Android apps. The HP x2 has no problems playing games like clash of clans, and Clash Royale. With the pen included it’s easy to take handwritten notes or capture portions of the screen using the pen. Overall the HP x2 is great for media consumption. What I don’t like is the penholder is kind of in the way at times. I wish HP could have found a way to slip the pen into the keyboard as the Samsung Chromebooks do.
One thing I don’t like that all the weight is on the screen rather than in the keyboard. It just takes a bit of getting used to and you can’t use it fully like a traditional laptop. Because of where all the weight is positioned on the Chromebook. Also, it’s very difficult to open with one hand so that would take some getting used to. Overall, this is a great little machine and one that I’ve really enjoyed. Using should you get it over other Chromebooks out there. Like the Pixelbook or the Samsung pro, because of the design. Battery life, and just the ability to fully detach and use it as a traditional tablet.
