Love the rotatable solar panel!
Easy to set up. I followed the instructions to connect the Home Station and then cameras, and they were connected within 10 minutes. The dual-camera 3K is amazing. Pitcure is clear whether close or far.What I like most is the rotatable solar panel. It automatically adjusts direction after a period of time to face the sun. I no longer worry about not being able to charge in the morning and evening. Battery has remained above 95% until now. Would recommend.

Upscale setup
This is my very first venture into security cameras. I cannot compare this to anything else since…what do I know?That being said, I had the system setup and running in about an hour (after charging the two camera units that is).I have a bit of property, so I have not been able to decide where to install the cameras yet.Installation of the cameras is very straight forward, but because of the built in rotatable solar panels, proper placement is key. I will probably sink some dedicated poles for my situation.You end up with a ‘Home Base’ station and two very well built cameras, that sort of look like something from the movie War of the Worlds, and a phone app which is provided.The start up installation procedure was GREAT. The home unit talks to you, letting you know what it is doing. The instructions are in the app, and it walks you through the entire installation brilliantly. I really appreciated this.So, as I mentioned, it was up and running within an hour. I have the home station next to my router because the ethernet cable provided is short. If you need to move to a different location, you will need to get 50 or 100ft of cable and run it yourself. I don’t know yet if I have to, but that part is pretty easy for me. Mechanical tasks I excel at, it’s the software techy stuff which trips me up usually. I get there, but I’m sure someone else could do it more quickly.Range seems fine to me since I will keep the cameras on the flanks of the house. If I wanted to use these out on the perimeters, I don’t think I would have enough of a wifi signal. This is not a long range system. I would imagine there are wifi boosters to bridge the gaps…but I’ll leave that to someone younger.Images on the phone after setup was great. I walked around the house with one camera, and had no issues until I passed by my fridge. There is something about my haunted fridge with electronics.Other than that, it worked perfectly. Images on the cellphone were crystal clear.This is a great whiz bang two camera system, and if you have never messed around with security systems, I can say you will like this product. It walks you through the entire process after downloading the app. The cameras work great and look really hard core. Are they squirrel proof…heh…is anything? But I think the squirrels will get used to them. Nothing exposed for them to mess with. Same with the crows I guess.I think this is a great way to get started with a wireless system…recommended!

A pretty decent kit with a few flaws
I have been using security cameras from Baseus for a bit now, and overall have been happy with them. This set with the rotating solar panels caught my eye, so I decided to pick them up. First off, unlike some of the other cameras made by Baseus, you must use the base station included in the box. It is not optional, and you need it to connect each camera to the internet and record and save longer clips. Unfortunately, that brings me to this system’s biggest fatal flaw…lack of range for the base station. Each camera must be within range of the base station to work, and the base’s range is not great. For my setup, I have 2 cameras mounted around 50 – 75 feet away from the base station at the maximum, and the cameras will occasionally fail to load, stutter, or not stream at all. In my opinion, this is less than acceptable for a camera system of this price point. The base station for my system is centrally located and does not have enough walls in between that it should affect streaming quality. As for camera quality and features, I am pretty happy with them. They record and stream in high quality 2K when they work, they have all of the modern bells and whistles you expect like the integrated solar panels, spotlight, siren, and adjustable motion zones. These cameras have two lenses and simultaneously stream and record a wide angle and zoomed in video. In theory it sounds great, but in practice, I’ve found that the zoomed video is too close and doesn’t really have a wide enough field of view to be useful, especially with the angle my cameras are pointing at. Half the time, all that is in frame is the ground or the driveway. Aside from that issue, and the connectivity problems, I do like the cameras. I would not recommend getting them though if you have a very large property and are planning on stationing the cameras very far apart.
