Low watt, portable, and a real time saver!
This thing works great, and its price point is extremely competitive. Having stated these key facts at the outset, here’s another important reason I chose mine over its competitors. It’s probably not the reason you’re considering this appliance, but I think it might intrigue you to consider the possibilities outside of its obvious features. Recently, I’ve become focused on the consumption of watts when it comes to my appliances. My focus on watts is not about saving money or the environment. It’s about my freedom to enjoy comfort wherever I am. That’s right, it’s about freedom in my mobility without sacrificing certain creature comforts. So, when I came upon this 300-watt multi-purpose cooking appliance I realized had even greater potential I took note. Comically, like a lot of people, I’ve also recently become intrigued by the prospect of using portable batteries for purposes of convenient cooking, while physically in unconventional places outside of my home. So this appliance met its potential in two of my interest areas, serving to distract me from my otherwise dull and meaningless life. Having cooking appliances that function off-grid is something that presents an ideal level of freedom for any extremely mobile human like me, without sacrificing the creature comforts of ordinary civilization. After spending a good part of my life traveling by land, sea, and air for work, then arriving to work in some unforgivingly remote environment all by myself, over time I learned the value of being conveniently equipped as it directly corresponded to my well-being, not just to my comfort. Rather than preparing and cooking meals like a caveman, I’ve always sought alternatives, since my diet was essential to good health, which in turn, was essential to my safety in those remote places. Most often, I was wholly self-reliant in these remote environments in the past. Now in my golden years, I’m traveling for fun. Using the same transportation and vehicles as before for work, I still spend much time on the road, then off-road, or off-off road. I am always transported by vehicles designed for the terrain, vehicles not exactly designed for remote living, and which can travel to more than a few places a typical RV could not. Only in most recent years has reality become for me, “I’m home wherever I am.” I’ve learned to live as a nomad but to do so mostly in comfort. I use this specific appliance on a 300-watt River 2 to boil eggs, steam vegetables, poach eggs, reheat, and in a pinch serve as a tiny slow hotplate/warmer. Cleanup is a snap. And for those of you having a good chuckle about an old man boiling eggs out in the middle of the Great Basin desert, for your information, while out there I also surf the internet and watch streaming movie channels too, sometimes inside of my solar-panel-powered, air-conditioned tent space, with its four-inch memory foam mattress, desk, chair, remote kitchen, dining space, and 24″ TV. I also have a portable hot water induction shower, as well as two solar panels and a small trolling motor’s lithium battery to sustain my portable freezer/fridge, altogether weighing less than 50 pounds. The fridge holds food like eggs, and frozen items for one person, for at least two weeks, but unlike coolers, the battery keeps it running all the time wherever it goes. I go where my backcountry vehicles can take me, but I eat and prepare regular food. I have grown less fond of primitive camping through the years, especially of sleeping on the ground and eating unhealthy foods, and so recent leaps of technology have enabled many new remote creature comforts. To me, having low-watt, realistically battery-capable, and/or solar appliances and modern conveniences, enables me to enjoy living in such a way as my moving to my ideal remote environment, but doing so with minimal disruption to my comfort or routine. For the time being the key to all of that for me is energy efficiency, so this little gadget fully fits a versatile bill. While this might be the strangest egg cooker review you’ll ever read, in the right hands this little egg cooker is a low-watt, lightweight, cooking dynamo. As for its battery consumption, like all heating appliances, it starts high and then drops for the longest part of the timed cooking duration. The cooking cycle for boiled eggs is the same on AC or battery, about 20 minutes. Closed dome the appliance consumes 287 watts peak, 48 to 96 varying average. On a basic, fully charged, pure sine wave, 300-watt battery source, it will consume about 36% per closed dome, 20-minute cycle, providing 2 to 3 full uses before full battery depletion. If you’re only looking for a great little lightweight and effortless way to boil eggs, this appliance does that exceedingly well too. I highly recommend it.

Very simple to use
The product works well and is much faster than getting a whole pot of water to a boil which means less water use too. Egg smell while cooking carried by steam seems to intensify the odor but itâs not that overwhelming. We used it to make soft boiled eggs and they came out perfectly done. However, we used it to make them again and did not remove the eggs immediately from the cooker and they continued to cook until they were hard boiled (still ate them though ð). It shuts off automatically and has an audible ring sound when cooking cycle is complete. Itâs nice that you can choose up to 7 eggs for full steaming capacity or just do 1 egg for a quick snack. Easy clean up and all the parts stack and store inside the lid when you store it away.

Great Gadget
bought his for my dad for his birthday and he loves it!!! he uses it almost every morning. he likes that he can make hard boiled eggs, poached eggs or even a small omelette. great price point and extremely easy to use. great item bc you can make more than one thing and no need to turn on a stove. great idea to give to older folks and even young kids who can’t have certain kitchen appliances in the dorm rooms

Decent job
It does a great job hard boiling . I didn’t pierce the eggs prior. The only flaw I see is I wish the side handles were longer so it would be an easier transfer to a cold bath. But the shells peel easily and eggs are well done. I haven’t tried the other opinions to make different style of eggs- i.e boiled or scrambled.

Wow!! At last – perfect poached eggs!!
Omg – this little egg cooker has been instantly relegated to my countertop permanently! Honestly, I was planning on stowing it away in some cabinet along with other ‘great little cookers’ I’ve bought (mini waffle maker, small hot plate, one cup at a time coffee maker, etc.) but was I ever in for a surprise! So far, and I’ve only had it about a week, I’ve made omelettes, hard boiled eggs, and have steamed some veggies, including carrots, onions and mushrooms) and today I tried poached eggs – my favorite — for the second time. They cooked up just perfectly – no icky dripping egg whites left over, yolks cooked to perfection, and all this in record time! They were simply delicious. Clean up was a snap, just one item to wash, and a gentle wipe off of the heating plate (plus quick rinse of domed top) and I was done. No boil-over mess on the stove top, no pot to scour, rinse and drain, no extra dish or bowl to dirty and then clean up; it was a breakfast maker’s dream! Two words of advice: First, READ the booklet over carefully and put it in a safe place for future referance. I goofed on the first day and due to a phone call, I accidentally stopped Bella from doing her job. Afraid I messed up the timer, the fix was super easy, and is explained in the booklet. And, it works!Secondly, don’t forget to turn the little measuring cup around in your hand for the rest of the directions. THAT is where the poached eggs water level is. Trust it. It really does work. On day one I had chosen “medium” water level and my poached eggs came out all runny (yuk). Had I known there was more on the reverse side of the cup, those eggs would have been a great as this morning’s were.Bella, I hope you continue to work for a long, long time. Welcome to my kitchen and if anyone is wondering if you are worth your price my answer is Definitely YES!

I am not good about cooking. I can cook but I don’t like the amount of time prep takes, the amount of time you have to wait doing nothing other than stirring/watching it and I don’t like the clean up… it all sucks time out of my day when I could be doing productive “things”. I resort to snacking, some of it healthy like raw vegetables, some of it not so healthy like potato chips. This is all relevant to to describing just how easy this egg cooker is.I work from home and in my work area is a bar that we use as a coffee/tea bar. This egg cooker is tiny, smaller than a 4 slice toaster yet it fits 7 eggs (if doing boiled eggs), you can do less, I usually eat 2 at any given time. When I got it, the first test was hard boiled eggs for egg salad sandwiches. I figured I would have to set a timer but this egg cooker cooks by steam and times itself by how much water you put in (amounts in instructions that came with it, measuring cup included). When it detects there is no water left, it auto shuts off. One thing to note here is that there is a little experimentation required for how much water you put in for your desired softness/hardness. I am 2,200 ft above sea level so the given water amounts are not enough and I have to add extra. Eg the soft boil water amount for me leaves the whites of the egg cooked(white) but still very “liquidy” in places.Second test was the next day: Poached eggs on toast. Went very well, do remember to throw some butter/marg/cooking oil into the bottom of the poacher pan. The poacher and omelette pans/bowls are very glossy plastic but my egg stuck enough that it wouldn’t just flip out of the poacher (because I forgot the dab of butter). That being said, the remaining egg just wiped out with a paper towel leaving the pan ready for washing..This is so easy, it’s quick and I can work at my desk during the cooking until I hear the beep that it is done. Clean up is washing a small tiny pan that doesn’t require scrubbing (if I did poached eggs or omelettes) and wiping down/drying the cooker. A process that takes less time than making my cup of tea in my one cup tea maker so I just start my tea, do the clean -up and my tea is just finishing when I am done, perfect!. All parts stack stack inside the cooker, including the measuring cup, when not in use (let it cool down first). This is worth the space it takes up! Which is saying something when it comes to kitchen stuff (thinking about the rice cooker, air fryer, turkey pan that is used 2X a year etc).

This product makes the best hard boiled eggs I’ve ever eaten. Each one perfect and easy to peel. You can also poach or scramble your eggs. Compact, easy to use and clean. Well worth the investment.
