Let me tell you about this culinary superhero swooping in to save the day! You know when you buy too many kitchen gadgets and instead of explaining why you NEED to buy another one, you just slip it in an order with face soap and batteries? Yeah, me too!I had been eyeing this thing for awhile, but couldn’t justify spending the money. I mean, do we batter our meat sometimes and make huge messes with 3 different bowls? Yes. Do we do it often enough to need this thing? No. But, come on, who wants to have their fingers coated with wet sticky flour once or twice a year? Not me!But I had a plan. When the face soap and batteries arrived with a side of Better Breader Bowl, I softened the groaning complaints with a plan to make shrimp in it as the first test. I hate shrimp. But it worked! With just one taste of those perfectly breaded, crispy bites of heaven, the hubs was singing a different tune. Suddenly, my Better Breader Bowl went from being ‘just another gadget’ to “when you gonna make shrimp again?”Let’s talk about the mess factor. Batter and breadcrumbs flying everywhere? Not with this bad boy! It is great at keeping everything contained and mess-free. I also was able to do several shrimp at a time. Even better? It’s pretty good but….
Started to give this five stars and thought about it. In all honestly I have to knock it down a notch. I bought two breaders I like the other type more than this one as it is nice and round and huge. anything fits This is a one piece at a time gizmo. also the way it is set up, and I don’t know why but the breading ends up really really thin. as in barely there. I’ve tried several options going straight from the egg was to this, then the standard egg wash, flour, breading. Which by the way you could really use three of these for that. Then I tried rubbing a little oil then breading, then I tried washing in salt water then into the breading. Everything came out with a really thin coat. Don’t try to put anything like parm cheese in the breading mix because it never makes it to the meat.but I did not have the leaking problems or the seal breaking away from the container. Clean up is rather easy. storage is a problem because of the odd size.. takes up a great deal of kitchen space.I’m old. Back in the day before shake and bake came out with their system we used brown paper lunch bags to coat the chicken (meat) in the flour and the bread crumbs. I suppose that is where the shake and bake ideas came about. Other than the bags breaking once inn a great while it has always been my tried and true go to system. Perhaps it is because it I what I have grown up with, or perhaps it’s because it is really the best and most simple way to accomplish this task and clean up is as easy as can be. straight into the trash with the bags when finished.I guess this is one of those build a better mouse trap things that rarely is.

Didnât work for me
I used this to batter my shrimp for frying and it didnât work. The shrimp were all stuck together and the flour had coated hardly anything. I ended up just taking the lid off, removing the blue part and just dipping the shrimp all by hand like I normally would. This was also a pain in the butt to clean! Not impressed.
