  1. Stephen G. Harrison

Clearly defined approach and pathways to Cybersecurity Certifications
This is a well presented, easy-to-follow book that identifies the benefits of certification, the rationale for doing so, and the different paths (beginner, intermediate, advanced, specialist) that might be pursued, and the necessary study, cost and other considerations. I found it an interesting read of what would reasonably thought to be a dry subject. If you are interested in and considering a certification in cybersecurity, and wondering about if it might be for you, this is a good read.

Very Helpful For People Who Want To Enter The Field
Written in a clear and concise manner, this book introduced me to the various cyber security certifications and the purpose of each. It explained the relevancy of each certification for a chosen career path. Creating study plans, solving queries, reviewing topics, and the importance of practice questions were presented for each credential. As someone just entering the field, I found this book very helpful in finding a niche within the cyber security realm.

A road map to 800,000 open cybersecurity jobs in the USA
I have a friend whose daughter decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and got a Cosmetologist license (the professional makeup and hairstylist certification in the USA) and then decided that she is going to pursue a college degree in Cyber Security. The mother asked me for career advice for her daughter. I told her that her daughter will have a better chance of getting excellent internships and a fulfilling job (755,743 cybersecurity job openings in the United States as of February 2023) if she spends all her free time pursuing cybersecurity certifications for the next three years while she finishes college. This book is the perfect road map for her and everybody wanting to enter this industry. The only shortcoming in this book is that I would have loved to read more about the author’s journey and how these certifications helped him get where he is in his career.

    Incredible for beginners
I have a friend who is getting into this field, and even though he has been at it for awhile I’d still hand him this book. It never hurts to brush up on the foundation and the basics!

    Absolutely incredible
After earning a bachelors in homeland security and emergency management, I still had very minimal direction and understanding of how to get into the field of cybersecurity. My training covered this some but not specific certs. College degrees are often a joke taught by professors who have never worked much in the actual field themselves. Had no real hands on experiences to aid in any significant advice. Most graduates were basically told to go work for TSA for a while checking bags at an airport. Point is I probably leaned more in this book in understanding how to work my way into the cybersecurity field than I did from a full 4 year degree. From my degree I was able to take a few cybersecurity classes that helped in peaking my initial interest. This book is so easy to understand a 10 year old could grasp it—exactly what I needed. Trying to research all this online is hard as there is way too much and often conflicting information available. This book far exceeded my expectations in that it was able to SIMPLIFY a very COMPLEX industry. Extremely impressed and felt I finally made some progress in understanding my direction, goals and how to work towards them. Especially appreciated the breakdown in cost. That helps a lot for planning.
