Better than I expected. Especially for the price. Half compared to 10 years ago.
This replacement works better than the original detector. Easy to replace. New wiring now includes a ground. The red light is vey useful. Much easier to adjust for placement along our walkway. I have this new one and an original. light come on walking in either direction. This model is well constructed and makes me happy that I don’t have to keep adjusting the position

Dial broken and stuck in test mode so lights always on.
After hooking it up I went to adjust the sensitivity and the sensitivity dial is just loose and broken, then after doing the test, the lights stayed on and the red detections leds blink, like it is stuck in test mode. I turne off power again and of course switched it out of test mode but the lights just stay on all the time now. It was awkward to install so I am really pissed that I did not check to make sure all the switches and the sensitivity ideal were working before installing it. Anyway it does not work at all so if you are willing to take the risk and buy one of these I hope you have better luck than me.

Lights on lights off again…yes!
Item was a direct replacement for my 10 year older zenith unit model # sl 5718 motion sensor, that just recently failed.Part #Internet # 203739884Model # DF-5716-BK-AStore SKU # 101240its a home depot item and cost the same on the home depot web site $13.04 (currently) + tax, free shippingItem came with all hardware needed to change the item, i suggest you also use some black electrical tape.Only issue i had was the color . My original unit was a dark brownish color this unit is black and i could not find it in my color sadly, but its barley noticeable to me.So far it has worked with no issuesItem comes with a 2 year warranty but lets see if its honored if it fails with in that time frame.Note: i prefer this unit over othets because of its multiple options vs the other replacement brands.Hope this helps …ill post updates when needed.Have a fantastic day and give your loved ones a hug. ð«

Good motion sensor replacement
This is a good motion sensor replacement for a standard install. It has a dual bright feature which is nice. I had to return it because it wouldn’t work for my custom installation design where I have (2) of these units controlling a bank of lights via relays. This sensor works if the load it switches is above the miliamp load of my relays. So for me, this sensor didn’t work, but for most applications, it is great.

Easy to install and works well
This sensor was used to retrofit a single exterior light socket to enable motion sensing with the DualBrite technology. I was initially skeptical that the DualBrite feature would work in an acceptable manner with an LED floodlight. However, it works as long as said LED floodlight’s label says it is dimmable! No flickering. A big plus was also having the wiring clearly labeled of which goes where. I am handy enough, but some buyers may not be.All in all, a solid upgrade.

Good long range but…
Very long range sensor that works with 15- 30 watt or LEDs. Anything less it will not activate and anything more it will malfunction like flickering. To aim at long range you must use two people or it is very difficult. It picks up vehicles Great but as for a person walking it can be very inconsistent and not activate sometimes. If you have trees and bushes and there’s a strong wind over 10 miles an hour it will false trigger constantly and you will end up having to dial down the sensitivity. I still give it decent grades because of the price. You get what you pay for. The 270° circumference claim is accurate at closer distances but don’t expect it at 100 ft. If you have a wide open space and don’t need the 100-ft detecting distance I recommend it. I am coming out of my pocket and replacing it with the defiant 270° long neck round sensor. It’s a lot more money but a better unit and you see it immediately when you hold it it is probably three times the wait of this unit and has a triple sensor technology.

Doesnât Work With LEDâs!
I would not have guessed in a million years that some of these donât work with LED lights. The previous motion sensor I had was about 25 years old, and it had no problem powering three LED sconces. Unfortunately, it started acting funny and then it went out, so I replaced it with this one. I wired it up meticulously, and the sensor itself seems to work fine, but the bulbs arenât going on. So I go to the comment section Here on Amazon and find out that this Defiant does in fact not work with LED lights. Sure would have been nice if they mentioned that somewhere on this page.
