Love Quesadillas? We love this maker!
This is our 2nd Queso maker from this company. We wore the first on out using it. Very easy to use, safe for age10+ and up to use! We love this and use it most every week for suppers or snacks!

One of my favorite kitchen cookers!
My old quesadilla maker started to lose its non stick finish after several years of use (I love these, I get the low fat grande tortillas fill with non fat cheese (Kraft) and a little bit of Taco Seasoning and onions. If I am feeling deserving, I also add some black beans and grilled chicken). So I use it a lot!Well, I through the old one out when I moved since it was losing its non stick coating (scratched away from use); that was a mistake. Iw went to all the stores looking for a new one and could not find it! The only one I could find was a tiny 8″ one at Sears. So, I came online, which honestly, was also limiting. I found this one which was an 11 inch (great for my grande tortillas) and got it! It was a low price and was an actual quesadilla size.I made some last night and they came out perfect and had a nice toasted color to the top and bottom, cheese melted properly (I use Kraft Fat Free shredded cheese, so it does not get as melty as others, which works better here since it is less prone to coming out) and it tasted great! I cut it up into the triangles (it leaves a mark/indent in it, and I use a knife or pizza cutter to cut it completely). I find that I can half it (take three pieces) and some beans on the side and have a great dinner! I also usually dip it in a little fat free sour cream. The package comes with the maker and a drip tray (never needed it; but if you use really wet fruits or soggy meats, you might). You want to be sure not to use a knife or metal item to get it out as that will scratch the non stick. I use the ‘George Foreman’ spatula that comes with the cooker, and also heat resistant plastic spatulas (be careful some spatulas are not heat resistant and will melt).I am very happy with this and find this is a great item to have to make quick and delicious dinners. I am not sure why it was so hard to find, used to they were always around during Christmas for presents, but this year I could not find one. However, I got this one and it is great!!!

    This Works…but
This Quesadilla Maker does work. However, I couldn’t get the lid to stay open by itself as pictured. I had to ask my husband to hold the lid while I made the Quesadilla. It did make good Quesdillas. However, they were a little dry and brittle. I sprayed a little oil and water under the bottom one and on the top one before pressing. The wraps came out considerably better that way. The grease catcher seems to be a little useless as I can’t imagine what it’s supposed to catch. The instructions come in Spanish… so, if I’m doing something wrong, I have no idea. The picture where the parts are numbered and identified is in English… weird… rest is in Spanish with no English version to go with it. So, if you have had one before and know how to use it properly, this will work for you. It is attractive. As far as I can tell, it does not disassemble for washing. It wasnn’t difficult to wash though. Couldn’t immerse the thing in water, but it was easy to wash up with a soapy rag and then hold each side in the water for rinsing. Getting the whole thing out of the pan and on to a plate was a bit difficult. I guess I need a larger spatula to hold the thing together. Cut nicely though once on a serving plate. I would not recommend this as a child friendly appliance as I feel it’s easy to spill or burn yourself when assembling or removing your Quesadilla. I had the idea that my grandsons might enjoy making their own snacks with this… I don’t think so, though. I’ll make them for them at least until they’re more coordinated!! Right now they’re still in that awkward stage where they don’t seem to know where their hands and feet end and begin, always tripping over things or knocking things over.

    Breaks after making 7 quesadillas
I got this, because it seemed like something worthwhile. It broke after a week’s use. (7 quesadillas)The thing is, the plastic to the non stick metal has a large void in it.So, any attempt to shut the thing (even with just a tortilla and a handful of cheese) will cause pressure on that void which, like so many others breaks the plastic in that region.I was being careful! I don’t brutishly shut it, it’s a problem that will happen easily regardless of strength or size of contents.Of note, even using this modestly the quesadillas are thin and tiny and cant fit anything more than the tiniest bit of cheese. It barely closes with just the tortillas.Even that will break it after a week. Not worth owning unless you’re okay with an inevitable plastic crack and thin quesadillas.

    Cooks ok, latch nonfunctional
Product heated and browned food adequately. Lights functional but not as described in the instruction manual.Plastic latch is either too small or was connected in such a way that it is impossible to function, so cannot latch the lid.I don’t believe the inability to latch adversely affected the cooking, but it definitely prevents me from storing the unit vertically, which is disappointing since this is one of the reasons I chose this model.

Plastic lock clasp broke on first use. Temperature was up and down and not consistent on first use. Poor quality all round. First ever purchase from Amazon I’ve felt the need to complain about. Not worth any Star Rating. But I had to give it 1 Star so the Review would be accepted! I’d remove it from the list!
