Loved This More Than Expected
I got this for my daughter, with my sneaky goals of hiding nutrition in her ice cream. This is not my first ice cream maker. But it is my first one that works really well. When you follow the directions, it is super easy and makes deliciously creamy ice cream. Yes, it stays creamy even after I freeze it, which is more than I can say about my Vitamix ice cream. I got this at a reduced price, but it is totally worth the full price.

Ice cream making is a breeze
Love that this fits onto and existing appliance , rather than having to buy another big thing. Directions are clear and it works wonderfully. Easy to put on and use. Healthy ice cream is a snap with this!

Hassle-free
The ice cream maker attachment is relatively quiet compared to other stand mixer attachments. However, it does make some noise while churning, especially when the ice cream is almost ready. This ice cream maker attachment is a game-changer for anyone who loves homemade ice cream. It churns quickly and efficiently, producing smooth and creamy ice cream in just a few minutes. The 2-quart capacity is perfect for small batches, and the attachment is easy to clean and maintain.KitchenAid is known for its high-quality appliances, and this ice cream maker attachment is no exception. It’s built to last, with durable materials and a sturdy design that can withstand frequent use. While the attachment itself is easy to clean, there can be some mess involved in the ice cream-making process. The churning process can create some splashing, and it’s important to keep the mixer and attachment clean to avoid any bacterial growth. The 2-quart capacity is a great size for small families or individuals who want to make their own ice cream. The white color is sleek and modern, and the attachment fits seamlessly with other KitchenAid stand mixer attachments. However, some users may find the attachment to be a bit bulky for their liking.Overall, this ice cream maker attachment is a must-have for anyone who loves homemade ice cream and wants a hassle-free, efficient way to make it at home. While it may not be the most compact attachment, its performance, durability, and ease of use make it a valuable addition to any kitchen.

Instructions could be better.
I had two issues with the product, both minor. First, the connector attachment doesn’t fit flush to the mixer, which makes it a bit awkward to setup – not difficult, just awkward. The instructions do not tell you that once you start churning the ice cream, you cannot stop until it is completed period. If you stop he mixer for any reason, do NOT restart it. If you do, the plastic connector will snap as the dasher will have frozen in the bowl. This happened to me when our power went out for about 30 seconds then came back on. I wasn’t close enough to get to the mixer to stop it when the power came back on and I heard a loud snap and the connect plastic had broken. It would have been nice if there was a warning in the instructions about power outages. Overall though, the ice cream maker works well. I made a no-added sugar chocolate ice cream with sugar free chocolate chips mixed in as well as a pink champagne sorbet. Both were quick and easy. Clean-up is simple. The bowl does take up a large amount of my freezer space prior to making the ice cream. My freezer is set a -1 F, so it only takes about 15 minutes to churn the ice cream.

Soooo fine!
Definitely buy an ice cream recipe book, too. I tend to not make the egg based ice creams because they take longer (but are delicious). I keep this in my freezer when not being used. So it is always really cold. As a result, this maker is fast. The recipes call for about 25 minutes of churn time but I’ve never gone past 15 minutes. Initially, the ice cream consistency comes out between soft serve and hard serve. So perfectly edible! It is like regular hard serve if you freeze it overnight. It is a deadly device to have at arm’s length but well worth the risks!

Es un producto genial, solamente que en algunos congeladores va necesitar estar más tiempo en congelación para que pueda funcionar de manera adecuada, el tiempo de elaboración de la nieve ronda en los 20 minutos.

IS THERE ANYTHING my BIG RED can’t do? ….. Well making fresh ice cream isn’t one of them. BEST buy ever!, did my research, did the reading reviews and recipes and this is what I have found…. IF you do just what one person who previously reviewed this attachment suggests as soon as this arrives, take the bowl out of the box, wash in warm water, DRY completely and get that bowl i to your freezer! Ours arrived yesterday morning and we did just that, taking it out this morning to make our first batch of the most AMAZING DELICIOUS fresh ice cream! As others have said, the instructions as to how to attach the mechanism to my mixer, but Youtube videos made that clear. The paddle, or as ice cream makers refer to it, the “dasher” sits in the bottom of the bowl so you need not worry about how is it gonna work… it just does! I used a recipe I found on line, a simple 2 2 2 1 Two cups whipping cream, two cups half and half, two teaspoons of pure vanilla extract and one cup of sugar. As per the recipe, I predissolved my sugar in the half and half, then added the whipping cream and vanilla. I have a very “vintage” pyrex mixing bowl with a pourer spout which is perfect to pour into the frozen bowl. Once you have the attachment and bowl in place START your mixer on speed ONE (1) no higher, and SLOWLY pour in your liquid, set the timer because in precisely 20 minutes your ice cream is DONE! I could not believe it… So simple, and so delicious. This is THE BEST attachment I have EVER purchased for my Kitchenaid stand mixer! Great value!

We actually bought a $200 ice cream maker and returned it as it was so complicated and didn’t work well. We decided to go simple and get this bowl which we thought would not be as good. We were wrong. It works like a charm, just freeze the bowl add the liquid, and switch on for 20 minutes and you have perfectly frozen ice cream! Wonderful
