My 8 year old halogen motion light in my backyard finally died – the motion switch turned into an âalways onâ switch.Ordered this light, it arrived the next day and it was an uncomplicated installation for this hard core DIY guy.Standard install setup for a light like this in a round metal electrical box. This light has some weight and be sure itâs securely attached. If youâre not used to this sort of work, hire a pro.Installation included mounting the new electrical box bracket to the outlet box, putting the gasket in place, connecting the wires and finishing the job with the one center screw that holds the fixture to the bracket.Experience told me to put it the light in âtestâ mode & turning the power back on to make sure it worked BEFORE I screwed in the final single fixture screw.Shot a photo at night and this light is BRIGHT! I tilted the lights down because I felt like Chevy Chase in âChristmas Vacationâ when all the lights finally work.The brightness of these lights might be. âconâ for some folks – the intensity is not adjustable.This light is inexpensive, well made, includes multiple length center mounting screws, wire nuts and the mounting bracket. All good for me as long as it lasts as long as my old halogen light.

Area light, not a spot light. Not very sensitive.
It produces bright white light that floods my front porch with light. My previous incandescent lights shown clear down my long driveway though. This does not. My previous porch light detected my vehicle as soon as I opened the automatic gate at the street. This doesn’t detect my vehicle and illuminate until I drive halfway down the driveway. My old one stopped working after about 30 years. I’m not unhappy with this one, but wish it worked at least as well as the ancient one it replaced.

Impressive Light once you get it installed
The install was a little tough as a DIYer, but if you can get through it, its a good light. The center screw was metric going into an existing standard threaded junction box that made it tough to get installed. The light has worked well though over 2 months I’ve used it. The light practically turns night into day. I also have it mounted under a 2nd story soffit and the motion detector works pretty well and the other reviews about an upside down position have some basis but if you can work with not shining the light for distance, this light works very well. If you need distance and are hanging below a soffit, this system will not extend the light well. Its about a 30° angle up from the vertical is all you get.

Amazing light!
A well lit environment is crucial for safety of people and property. This light helps me fill that need. I’m not exactly sure what a lumen is or how many of them you might need but this is rated for 4,500 lumens and it’s BRIGHT. I was pleasantly surprised at just how well this lit up my area. The 5k color temperature is a happy medium of comfort and contrast.The IR motion sensor is fantastic and probably my favorite part of this light. It really works well and depending on the angle of the sensor you can reach out and pick up things WAY farther than I would of initially thought. It gives this light versatility for however you choose to mount it. It also has settings for IR depth and length of time on after triggered.The pivoting light heads are also very well made. The side lights can turn a full 90 degrees to illuminate your surroundings and the middle light is also adjustable. Solid metal construction and comes with everything you need to mount it. I honestly cannot find anything to complain about and would recommend this to anyone in need of illumination!

Our old security light of probably 15 years finally died, and I chose this one to replace it. Very easy to install, and I love how easy it is to adjust. Motion sensitivity works great, and the fact that you can set how long the light stays on is great too.Good light at a good price!
