    Works good

    120 volt
Works great and an easy to install self contained motion sensor. Adjustable light sensitivity

Ridiculously sensitive — turns on and off all night
It’s in a closet and turns on even if the door is closed. It requires just the smallest amount of movement. It’s hard to sleep with that thing clicking on and off every 45 seconds. I even got a replacement unit and it does the same thing. The instructions say you shouldn’t use it near white walls, which is ridiculous.

    Outstanding product for 6 years
Intro: I have a flat roof, i.e., no attic. My house also has a low voltage lighting system that the well-heeled had installed in their homes in the 1950’s–the light switches control relays in each ceiling box, which toggle on/off 110 V AC to the light fixtures. the system shorted out recently, coincident with roof replacement. The short’s location is a mystery and most light switches do not work. 3 different fixes include:1. rip up the roof ($15-20,000) and find the short or rewire the house (cost unknown)–also leaving the house vulnerable to rain between the tear out and re-roofing.2. install wireless switches and receivers costing at least $140 per room3. install wireless motion sensors costing from $22 to $85 per room.I installed this sensor in my kitchen. Instructions: easy to follow (I have some DIY experience) Adjustments to the sensor: not at all difficult. The convenience is phenomenal–I no longer have to find the light switches when I enter a room nor do I struggle to flick them off as I exit. Lights turn on as the sensor “sees” me getting near and turn off after a user-set interval when the sensors detect no further motion. This sensor also works with fluorescent lights (tubes or compact), while the $22 Heath/Zenith from a big box Home improvement store does not. This sensor also has a photocell that keeps it from triggering the lights when other sources of light keep you out of the dark. Amazon does sell a model for about $40-45 that has no photocell and triggers with motion irrespective of ambient light.July 6, 2018 update: three units of five malfunctioning, turning on/off on their own. One star downgrade–it doesn’t work forever.

    Works reliably!
This product is an exact replacement for the IR motion sensor I installed in my home in 2003. I purchased original Leviton units from local electrical supplier. Seems like 2016 they started to fail. When I rebuilt my 200+ year old home I made electrical provisions to control the lighting in each room, and or area. Worked great. I’m gradually replacing, and after six months of use, [gradually replacing them] so far so good. The green LED behind the bezel seems brighter [indicates motion detected]. One setting for daylight [I don’t use-turned down to disable], and the time delay takes a little messing around till you get it where you want it. So don’t put the ladder away right away. Be patient, once you have it dailed in where you want it, it has stayed consistent. Also remember, it’s IR sensor, so radical temperature variation will initiate sensor. I have ductwork that will blow heat/ cool, so rarely that initiates. The physical attributes resemble a smoke detector in the ceiling. Be aware also if using this with a 1G old work box the sensor does not completely cover. When we sheetrocked covered most of the opening then cut out min opening. Don’t know what Leviton expected electrician to use for box to make it finish nicely. Overall really reliable.

    Great self contained sensor!
Have had this in my garage hooked up to two 8 foot LED fixtures for about 6 months now. Works awesome! Stays on while I am working in the garage and goes off when I leave. Was easy to install if you understand basic wiring. Took adjusting it a few times to come on and go off when I wanted it to but once it was set I haven’t had to touch it again. Have tried less expensive units in the past and found spending a few extra dollars is well worth it!

Works much better than most of these occupancy type sensors. Highly recommended.
This sensor costs a bit more than some of the others, but well worth the money. I have tried a couple of cheaper ones before this, and they either turned on the lights when I didn’t want them to, or just the opposite. This model has an adjustment for the ambient light conditions to allow it to activate the lights. It also has an adjustment for how long to keep the lights on after the last motion was detected. Leviton is a good company that makes good products. A strong word of caution. If you buy one of these, make sure you get the model that is closest to the size of the area you want motion detection in or you may well have problems. I would highly recommend these.

Took some doing to get it to work as desired
The photocell feature caused me some trouble, as the users wanted the lights to come on, no matter what the ambient light level was. I finally had to tape the photocell over and it works fine now. Instructions on how to set it up were poor; tech support was available and helped some. Overall, the relay output switch was exactly what I needed to switch fluorescent lights. Testing it was time consuming, based on what the tech said I had to do; very confusing process.

I just installed two of these at the request of the owner of a new restaurant. One in the men’s washroom and one in the women’s washroom. Each is switching a 0.5 ampere fan motor(60 watts) and 100 watts of LED lighting. I cranked the sensitivity to the max and adjusted the on-time to approximately 15 minutes or so. So far they are working perfectly. It has been 6 weeks and no sign of fault. Everybody says they work great. The response time to trigger is a hair to slow but totally fine. As a backup plan, if these fail, I installed 24 volt lines to install the low voltage version with solidstate relays. Being a commercial space, I can not afford to have these fail. I did not warranty them, nor the fans because anything with a motor or sensitive electronics is deemed to fail at some point in time. What I did do is give the client a back-up plan. Anywho, these things are working great.

Very happy with this product, works perfectly in my 400-500 sq foot garage

  11. PB

This is the slickest auto light switch around. Used it for our basement stairs/hall. Neve again need to worry about having to switch on a light when your hands are full. Real nice safety feature.

  12. JJM

Perfect for our home use in the garage. Wife doesn’t need to find the light switch while holding our baby, and carrying whatever else. Pretty simple to wire up as well (if you have some electrical knowledge/experience). Thinking about buying another one for the laundry room too.

  13. Robert Booth

It is really nice not to have to turn my workshop lights on/off each time I go into the shop or leave.Works Great
