Product Description
This ceiling mount occupancy sensor uses passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect movement in the surrounding space and automatically turn the lights on and off based on motion in the room. It is designed to replace a standard light or fan switch and is ideal for 120V residential applications including entryways, hallways, closets, storage areas, garages or any other area that requires a light or fan to be active while occupied. The PIR sensor detects changes in the infrared energy given off by occupants as they move within the coverage area. When occupancy is detected, a self-contained relay switches the connected load on. An internal timer automatically turns off the load after a selectable period of inactivity ranging from 18 seconds to 10 minutes. This sensor also has adjustable sensitivity, time delay and light level settings so that you can customize it for your application. It has 360-degree coverage with a radius of 10ft – 13ft when mounted at a height of 10 ft. It also has a detection angle of 150 – 180 degrees. This sensor is ETL Listed and is backed by Maxxima for 1 year.

Wires Exposed
The device is constructed so that wires are exposed. Wires enter on side of device. Does not meet our building / electrical code and is unsightly. Missed return window and will discard.

Doesn’t meet US electrical codes
It turns the light on and off. However by the time you get done piddle fartin’ around making the installation meet code, you might’ve well bought a more expensive unit and been money ahead. The wire connections on this unit make it so the wiring is exposed even after installation. The unit also does not cover a round box, so several code violations.I used an onwall round box cut out so the unit’s mounting screws pull it against the ceiling with the plastic box sandwiched between the unit and ceiling. Only way I figured out how to satisfy the AHJ.

3 way setup to activate recepticle and lights in garage
The good: see my wiring diagram. I was able to use two occ sensors in parallel (3 way operation) to activate recepticles and therefore turn lights on automatically.Bad: false advertisement regarding operation down to very cold temperatures. The listed operating temps are in Celsius and not in fehrenheit . Had I known that was the case, I would have bought a competitive brand for sevens dollars cheaper price. I got deceived by that.

Really work good
We put them in an area that is not used often so to ensure lights were not left on these were installed in the ceiling.

Pass on this PIR Sensor and Spend a Little More
Unfortunately, this product arrived already opened, used and was dirty. In addition it doesnât accept wiring from underneath the unit and the harness doesnât work well with standard 120V household wiring.
