Another outstanding Reolink camera
Presumably you understand the sophisticated features of this very well designed and made AI sensor camera, one of the latest in Reolink’s evolving line. One question you may have (that I couldn’t find the answer to) is, Yes, it stays zoomed in to whatever setting you leave it. However, it appears the various sensor settings may work on the extended (zoomed out) field of view, not just what you set it to look at (look out you waving ferns, I gotta clip you back.) Another issue for me was having to use this a Long Way from the NVR, via 2 OAPs, it cannot connect to the NVR if it doesn’t have the same 192.198.XXX address as the NVR (if your OAPs generate other XXX addresses, your only recording option is on a micro SD card, 256GB holds a Ton of shots even with pre and long after recording, and waving ferns lol.)I don’t use the IR or floodlights for night vision. There’s a lamp nearby that the camera picks up weak color vision with, it is so sensitive. While it has a very sturdy metal case, I chose to anchor, hide and further protect it in 4″ ABS plumbing fittings, which it fits into perfectly (not 3″.) Easy to extend the antennas outside the shell with cables here, and Excellent WiFi reception even through the jungle. Also makes a snug, warm home for a few geckos.

No License plates at night
I bought this to mount on the front of my house and record passing license plates 100 feet away, for the next time someone sideswipes my car on the street and doesn’t stick around. I zoomed the carmera to the max, and yes, license plates are very clear in the recordings. However, at night, the license plate is mostly a glare, and you can’t make out the digits.

First Reolink Camera and I love it
I am slowly replacing my increasingly unreliable Blink system and I started with this 811WA. The install was easy, though I just ran the cord to an outdoor plug. Yes, I know I know, not the most secure but for what I needed it for it works. The install was easy though the screws that came with it are not that great. I just replaced with longer ones, EZ PZ. The set up on the app was very easy! It picked up my wifi almost immediately and I was off the races. The hardest part of this whole thing was dialing in the settings to suite my needs. It was sending a million notifications of every moment in my yard, but once I figured it all out (thanks youtube) it’s been nothing short of excellent. I also popped in a 256gb microSD card and it gives me about 5 days worth of recording. I review detected motions daily but I also use the PC app to just have a live feed at my computer while I work. I’d say it picks up 97% of motion per my settings and havent had a false trigger yet. I would 1000% recommend these cameras. The Trackmix is next on my list!

Iâm done with Reolink
I own over 30 Reolink cams for home and business. Iâve been buying from them since they only sold overseas. With Every new release the connection gets worse. They are only getting slower every year. I canât load anything anymore. In an emergency youâll be gone before looking at live view. The only thing Reolink are good for is reviewing the recorded videos. I thought It was my internet for a long time. Until I got introduced to Wyze. I bought the Wyze new release V4 and I couldnât believe the quality And how fast it loads. Iâm so upset with Reolink because I was a long time customer )Over 7 years). In my opinion, the only Camera that Reolink had made solid and loads super fast was C1-PRO PTZ. Which they have discontinued! I went ahead and bought 16 Wyze cams and buying more. The world is getting worse and California has a lot of problems. I canât wait on Reolink to fix their software or whatever the issue is. Nothing loads fast, colors are not what I call âTrue Colorsâ so I canât really tell the skin color of people in an emergency evidence situation. At least with Wyze I can actually see true colors and true impressions of faces!

I really wanted to like this Reolink RLC-811WA 4K camera
The camera worked okay with the App. But after spending a whole day trying to get it to connect to my Dahua DVR/NVR, I gave up. It is also advertised that the video can also be viewed through a web browser. That wouldn’t work either, and that was using their downloadable Windows program. I tried many times to connect directly (ethernet cable and via Wi-Fi) to the camera at it’s IP address, but the camera refused the connections. Reset the camera to factory settings twice – No luck. Tried opening ports on the router –No luck.I have to say that the instructions for getting the camera going, were lacking.Another problem is Reolink’s software programs are not easy to run. Their video that explains how to do a particular setup or operation does not match the images that are shown in their App or on their Windows viewer program, so that leads to “dead-end” configuration instructions. The Reolink help sites (forums) on the internet indicate that the cameras should be ONVIF. But, even that setting on the DVR/NVR would not discover the camera. I tried it both on the WiFi and on Ethernet connection to the router.I need to have the camera be on the DVR/NVR with all my other cameras.Too bad. I will attempt to find another reputable brand with those same features as in the Reolink RLC-811WA.

Good Camera
Well built metal housing, decently sharp image, good connectivity at a distance (mine is on the garage, at least 50 ft from the router in my house). Zoom works, but since the camera doesn’t rotate, not that useful. Reolink app is ok. Has micro SD slot (provide your own card) for storage. Recommended.

Works well and has high quality video
I use this with image recognition software and get great results. Because this camera can use 5ghz bands for more bandwidth I can get higher bit rates, thus higher quality video. There’s also a weather sealed Ethernet cable if a wall penetration is made later.Mounting was easy with provided equipment although screws started to strip with the Philips bits I tried using.I used the reolink app for initial configuration but after that am using other software to capture the camera stream.

5G WiFi too weak
Almost returned camera because of weak signal. Router on inside wall about 25ft away Changed camera setting to 2.4g and much better connection. Like the camera picture
