I love that placing an outdoor security camera these days is easy to do, inexpensive, and the performance of the camera is reliable. Obviously, it’s wireless with an internal battery, so you only need to make sure it’s mounted in a good location that’ll get decent amount of sun, and you should have no issues with it reliably maintaining power. I must confess, I already had two cameras that are almost exactly like this in design. They also have an integrated solar panel, and are completely wireless. So, I was already a fan of this design. The profile of the camera is quite small, and while it’s visible, if mounted correctly, it could be quite sleek, and discreet. The reason I wanted a third camera like this, is because my other two do such a good job of monitoring the front and back of my house, that I wanted one for the side entrance as well. While the image quality is not going to be comparable to a cinema camera, it’s certainly more than adequate for viewing good detail for monitoring purposes. Installation was very easy, and set up with the app was also straightforward. I didn’t hit any roadblocks with the setup, and had it up and running pretty quickly. Considering that this camera is now $30 when you apply the coupon, it’s hard to argue with the fact that it’s an extremely high value item for home security. You get a lot for the money here. It also works with Alexa which is great for me, because I have my home entirely wired up with echo dots. I was able to sync it with the Alexa app and can now monitor it via that as well. I personally don’t really care for any subscription type services, because I don’t like paying monthly for something that I can do myself with an internal memory card, and this one does have that micro SD card slot for loop recording. There is a two way audio feature, so you can communicate with whoever you’re seeing through the camera, as well as security features like a spotlight, and audio warnings. Years ago, a camera like this would have been very expensive, and today you can get it for the cost of a trio at your favorite fast food place. Like I said before, it’s hard to argue with the value. Keep in mind, I’ve only recently just installed it, so these are just my initial impressions. Perhaps at this price point, there may be some gremlins that have yet to appear with time, but I can’t report any thus far. Time will tell how robust and reliable it is, but if it continues to perform like it is now, it’s a solid buy all day long. I’d certainly recommend it.

Finally, A Practical Camera!
I love this item. As per the instructions, charge this out of the box. The first thing I did after setting up the software on my phone (easy!) was to test whether I could get a reliable charge going in varying amounts of light. The software allows you determine whether the camera is currently charging or not, and Iâm pleased to report that even indirect sunlight reliably powers this setup. Thatâs hugely important, since the heavy rains that are a constant here will greatly impede visibility for any camera.Now that I know I can put it under the eaves of my roof and still get reliable power indefinitely, I now know that the points weakest to moisture, the charging ports beneath, will be as protected from direct downpours as possible. Furthermore, I know that this will receive a WiFi signal from the farthest reaches of my property. Seventy yards through several interior and one exterior wall away from the router is quite a feat.The ring light, siren, and intercom work and are quite noticeable if direct intervention is your intention. There is the option of a 128gb SD card if you donât want to spring for cloud service to hold recordings.The only thing Iâd mention for improvement is that you shouldnât trust the four tiny wood screws included with the mount. Invest in something more substantial to deal with winds, as well as the appropriate material you will be drilling into with it.
