[Motion Sensor Detects Your Movements] With a motion detection range of up to almost 30 feet within 110° horizontally and 55° vertically, there’s more than enough range to secure an entire room of your home. You’re also able to customize the sensitivity settings so that you are only alerted to movements that matter to you. With the built-in light sensor, it will automatically trigger the SwitchBot Bot to turn on the light if someone moves when the environment gets dark.
[Easy to Install & Long Battery Life] Thanks to its small and wireless design, SwitchBot Motion Sensor can be installed and set up in seconds. You can place it anywhere since its magnetic flexible base can be inserted to the bottom and side. The included battery provides up to 3 years of power for round-the-clock security.
[Part of SwitchBot Ecosystem & Compatible with Alexa] Connect Motion Sensor with other SwitchBot products and set up a “Scene” in the SwitchBot app. When you come home, SwitchBot Bot (button pusher) will automatically be triggered to turn on the light, and Alexa will say ”welcome home”. When you leave, SwitchBot Indoor Camera will automatically turn on to detect indoor activity while you’re away (SwitchBot Hub required).
[Remote Alert Notification] You will receive a notification if a suspicious person enters the house while you are away. (SwitchBot Hub required)
[Energy & Money Saving] By detecting the room vacant, Motion Sensor automatically turns off the lights, reducing unnecessary energy consumption to save you money.

Very useful addition to the Switchbot family!
This is great and i’ve been waiting for a switchbot motion detector to come out. This seems to detect motion very well, however i have not been able to get my routine to work with it. it’s supposed to turn on my kitchen when motion is detected, yet this has not happened. so it works well to detect motion, but i think the software needs a little work to integrate it into home automation

    works great, small, discreet.
Great little motion sensor. Good integration and implementation choices with the Switchbot app, though triggering of automations can be a tad laggy.

    Great At Controlling Office Lights
The motion sensor is another addition to my Switchbot eco system, as a part of my smart house design. I have the Hub Minis, Bulbs, Plugs, and Thermostat/Hygrometer Plus, all performing various routines and automations, a total of 24 devices. All of the devices maintain connectivity to my network and router, and are simple to set up and manage wether its through the native Switchbot app, 3rd party apps like Simple Commands, or IFTTT, and my voice assistant “Alexa”.For the office lights I went into the Switchbot app, performed the calibration for ambient light, and set up one for dim lighting and one for bright lighting. Created the required “Auto” routines/scenes to control the lighting. Now once motion is detected at the doorway the lights turn on and remain on while activity is taking place. I did need to set a condition for “no motion for 10 minutes” to assure the lights remain on while working in the office, but turn off automatically when the office is vacated.Switchbot has provide quality products for a reasonable price, they are my go to brand for smart home implementation!

    New 1.3 FW trashed it?
Worked great for over a year. After the latest firmware upgrade to 1.3 it hasn’t worked again. I took a second one out of the box which got auto-upgraded and also never worked.Update: After 24 hours or so of not working, it now works again. I don’t know if there was a fw update since 1.3 that went into it automatically

    Finally a sensor that works
I have tried several motion sensors to get my bathroom lights automated. This one finally worked. There is a slight delay, yet I wonder if that’s due to the motion sensor or Alexa. I’d like it if the activation of the light is faster. Nevertheless, I’m happy that I don’t have to keep in mind if I turned the lights on or off (I’m a master of forgetting to turn them off). I installed the sensors a bit delayed, and all of a sudden; the 2nd sensor wasn’t recognized by Alexa; reaching out to their TechSupport helped, and my issue had been resolved (Firmware-Update). Overall a really good company, and I can highly recommend it.

Cannot use as a Google Home automation trigger
My review is regarding the integration with Google Home and Matter. The product itself functions as it’s supposed to, within the Switchbot app. However, one issue within the app is that I receive a notification for every motion trigger. I can turn off the notification, but I’d rather use notification schedules such as when I’m away or on vacation. It appears I can only turn off the notification. The primary reason for 1 star review was for my intended purchase. I wanted to use the motion sensor as a Google Home automation trigger. If no motion was detected for a defined amount of time, I wanted it to turn off the lights. Another possible use, if I purchased more sensors, was to set up a Google Home automation that if motion is detected at night, a night light would turn on. The Switchbot app does integrate with Google Home and the sensor does show up in Google Home. However, Google Home treats the motion sensor as a on/off light. It WILL NOT function as a Google Home automation trigger. In Google Home it will show off all the time. If I open the device in Google Home, create motion, it will show as “on”. However, that is the only time the status of the device will “refresh” in Google Home. It WILL NOT function as a Google Home trigger. I found this stated by support in an article at the Switchbot website. I’m sorely depressed I can’t use it. I’ll keep it, but hope more functionality will be released soon to make it more relevant for me. I guess for now I can manually turn on notifications when I’m away from home.

    SwitchBot Smart Motion Door Sensor
I guess I was just tired of saying, “Alexa, turn…” With this sensor I can now walk into the kitchen and the light comes on. My only problem… it takes a good 5 or so seconds for it to turn the light on. In that time frame I have walked to the sink and stood there for a few seconds or so, looking into the dark. But, so far so good, I like it, I just to figure out how get the light to turn on in a few seconds. Good product.

I have the Hub Mini and 2 Motion Sensors.I initially bought the hub and 2 sensors on a deal. To start with, I didn’t have any issue setting up the hub or one of the sensors, but the second one turned out to be faulty. I established this with great help from Customer Support. I got a replacement which worked without any problem.I use one sensor to turn on a hallway light, on a schedule, during the night. The other one has different schedules enabled to turn on lights in our living room late at night, turn on the light and my PC first thing in the morning and also turn on my PC when I get home from work in the afternoon (all via Alexa routines)! The sensors are very well made and the range they cover is at least 30-40 feet.Battery life is really good – almost a year so far, even though they are in highly active areas, and the app even tells you how much battery life is remaining. These really are impressive little devices and Switchbot provide great service.
